Let us take you across the time gap to explore the world of ancient locks from the Yangshao culture. This is not just a wooden lock but also a super fun coin-sorting piggy bank!

Designed with high-quality wood, this kit replicates the ancient wooden lock mechanism from the Yangshao culture. As you assemble it, think about how people thousands of years ago discovered and solved problems, sparking your and your child's imagination about scientific concepts.

Each component has been meticulously engineered to replace the heavy ancient lock bolts with lightweight stretched springs, ensuring the highest level of fit and comfort in assembly.

Additionally, the piggy bank functionality allows children to observe how coins travel along inclined planes with varying angles and speeds to fall into the correct slots based on the size of the openings after unlocking and opening the bank. The kit also includes a painting set to create the kid's dream colors for the piggy bank!

|A story of Yangshao culture|

The wooden lock is one of the earliest locking mechanisms in ancient China. Modern locks have evolved from these ancient wooden locks. The basic structure is simple: it involves a hole in the door through which a bamboo stick or wooden tool is inserted from the outside to activate the wooden bolt and open the door from the inside. It is said that during the Yangshao culture period, from around 5000 BC to 3000 BC, people were already using wooden locks. However, no genuine examples have survived to the present day.

Important Notes

  • Please polish the wooden parts with the included sandpaper before assembly. Also, be cautious of small parts to prevent children from swallowing them.
  • No glue is required; simply follow the instructions to install the parts in their correct positions and slots, and ensure that the parts fit together properly to ensure the model functions correctly once assembled.
